A Guide To Photoelectric Smoke Detectors in South Auckland

Photoelectric smoke detectors use light in order to function properly. There’s a small light in the device and it is triggered when the alarm notices that there’s a lack of light. Even if you have smoke emanating from a burning or smouldering object, these will help detect them. Bear in mind that these can be pretty sensitive and it will pick up things like steam from a hot shower, smoke from a piece of singed toast, chimney smoke or burning incense. Because of this, you should keep them away from kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms. This will help prevent you from having to manage many false alarms.

For the photoelectric smoke sensor to be effective, it is recommended that it is placed within passages, blocked and bedrooms corners. Don’t opt for places near doorways, windows, air-conditioners or ceiling fans as these areas will lead to smoke escaping the detection of the South Auckland photoelectric smoke alarm.
